Manufacturing Complete, Freight Shipping Begins, Credit Card Charging Date Set

Well, potential Zorros, it's a been a little hectic behind the scenes here, but everything is still on track. Hopefully the "MINI UPDATES" in the main comments thread have been helpful. Let's start with some of the major events that occurred since the last update.

The Last Month

We received the physical samples and everything looks incredible except the Equipment Pack 2 you'll all be getting didn't quite match the rest of the cards, so we had them re-printed. We want everything to be perfect for you. That has now finished and it concluded the manufacturing portion of our adventure. Everything was put on trucks to bring to port to get on a boat.

We thought we were all set.... but then 2 pallets of games went missing for a couple days this week. We were sure some scoundrels or villains were plotting to thwart our heroic efforts. It was a scary time, but thankfully our allies at our logistics provider found them yesterday. Whew!

The missing pallet caper was particularly stressful because Chinese New Year begins in about 10 days, which is when everything shuts down in China for almost a month, but I'm happy to report that it won't affect our timeline because everything will be on a boat by then. I suppose we shouldn't count our chickens before they hatch, but everything is looking really good.

Charging Credit Cards February 11th

Now that freight shipping has begun, it's time to charge credit cards for the things you paid for in BackerKit, which would be add ons, shipping, VAT, and other taxes. We will charge those things on February 11th. 

Locking Addresses February 18th

Around February 18th, we will be locking down your mailing addresses in BackerKit so that we can get those to fulfillment centers in time for them to order supplies and prepare for arrival. Delivery to your address will occur for everyone somewhere between March 15th and May 15th, which will hopefully help you choose which address to use in case you are moving. You can update your mailing address in your BackerKit survey.

We will have a more granular schedule for deliveries in the next update. And if you are moving within that window, let us know and we can make special arrangements for you to hold the package until your delivery address is stable. Just email [email protected] or send us a Kickstarter message and we'll work with you on the best solution for your particular situation.

Zorro™ News and Manufacturing In Progress

Hello Zorro wannabes,

Today we wanted to share the latest news for both the Zorro™ universe as well as for the game! 

New Zorro™ TV Series

Today, a new Zorro™ TV series was announced that will be a reimagining of the Guy Williams series from the 50s. I'm really looking forward to see this version in a "modern telenovela style -- with richly drawn contemporary characters". Here's an article about it where you can read more. This is in addition to the CW series in development featuring a female Zorro. I can't wait to see them both!!!

Game Progress

Manufacturing for a couple deluxe items has finished and all the rest is in-progress. No hiccups at all. (Ooops... you don't believe in jinx, do you?) That's really about it.

We'll lock down addresses once manufacturing is nearing completion so look for more news on that in the next update.

Pledge Manager Closed and Print Files Submitted

Greetings future Zorros!

The current Zorro has been keeping a watchful eye on us making sure we keep dashing forward. Don't tell him, but we CAN'T WAIT for one of you to take his place. He's always watching... always "training" us... maybe the new Zorro will let us take a break once in a while. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Pledge Manager Stretch Goal

We're excited to announce that we hit our stretch goal for pledge level upgrades and late pledges so we are engraving all the stunt tokens and adding enough so you can distribute them to each player before the game, placing them in your level trackers to be acquired each time your Ally gains a level. It will be a bit easier this way and makes it pretty much impossible to forget to take your Stunt Token when you level up.

Print Files Submitted

All the print files have now been submitted to all manufacturers and they have all been paid! We're actually using 4 different manufacturers to get the best quality components we can for you. We carefully selected each component in the previous campaign and in this one to ensure you'll be blown away by the quality of the final product. Anyone here who went deluxe in the last campaign can back us up on that. Zorro accepts nothing but the best.

Zorro Trading Cards Kickstarter

Our fellow licensee friends at RRParks CARDS are currently running a campaign for some Zorro Trading Cards if you are a Zorro collector -- it ends on December 10th so there's still time to join!

Pledge Manager Closes in 1 Week

Future Zorros!

Thanks for the 82% of you who have already completed your BackerKit pledge manager survey. Zorro would be proud and he will surely take this effort into consideration when he chooses his successor.

Pledge Manager Closing

The BackerKit pledge manager survey will be closing on October 22nd. You must complete this to receive your game. If you don't complete it before it closes, the following will happen:

• You won't get your name on the Big Box.
• You may receive your game later than others.
• You won't be able to add on additional items.
• Zorro might cry. He gets emotional about such things.

We don't want you to miss out on any of these and we want to keep Zorro happy too. Reminder: Your credit card for anything you add on in BackerKit won't be charged until early next year.

Pledge Manager Stretch Goal

We just need 3 more people to upgrade from $1/no reward to a $19 or higher pledge in order to get engraved wooden stunt tokens and include enough of them so you don't need a shared pile and can just put them on your Ally from the beginning! We're also including those who get a physical copy of the game as a late pledge so you can share THIS LINK with others who might want to join us too.

Pledge Manager Going Live and EU VAT

Hello heroes,

There are a lot of important items to discuss in this update, so please look through the headlines for the ones that apply to you.

BackerKit Pledge Manager Going Live

The BackerKit pledge manager survey is going live and will be open for 1 month. You will receive an email on how to complete it at some point today, so check those inboxes. For those new to Kickstarter, completing this survey is required to receive your reward and is used for these things:

• Allows you to input your address so we know where to ship your reward. (and you can change it later in the BackerKit pledge manager too)
• Allows you to pay for the shipping and any taxes your government requires with various payment methods.
• Allows you to customize your pledge so you can add on additional items or even change your reward level.

Other notes specifically for this campaign:

• The initial question will let you opt-in to getting your name forever memorialized on the Big Box if you backed at a reward level that includes it.
• Anything you choose to add on comes with free shipping.
• Your credit card will not be charged until we begin freight shipping, which will likely be in January or February. We will keep you updated on the schedule as we go.

EU and UK VAT

As many of you know, there has been major changes to how VAT is handled in the UK and EU this year that are affecting how individuals in those regions will receive their games and pay for the VAT required by their governments. 

UK Backers: We have a UK VAT numbers now so we will charge you your country's VAT in the pledge manager and ship to you with duties paid, meaning you won't have to pay anything or do anything special when you receive your reward. 

EU Backers: The cost of registering for an EU VAT or IOSS number is very large, especially the part about paying an intermediary to file EU VAT returns for us every month since we are not based in the EU. This campaign did not raise enough to justify that cost. As a result, we will not be charging EU VAT in the pledge manager. You will pay the VAT when you receive your reward. Your local post office will also likely charge you a ridiculously large handling/administration fee, so we are offsetting that cost for you in two ways:

• Everyone in the EU gets free shipping.
• Because you get free shipping, the amount on which your VAT is calculated will be smaller, so you will pay less VAT.

Although we understand there may be some hassle when you receive your reward to pay the VAT, at least we can cover the cost above what you would've had to pay in the pledge manager. And of course, if you'd prefer a full refund, we're happy to do that for you.

By giving you free shipping, we will lose money on every EU order, but it will be far, far, far less than the money we would lose by registering for VAT or IOSS and paying an intermediary every month. Thanks for your understanding.

Pledge Manager Stretch Goal

We're a little bummed we didn't get to increase the count of wooden stunt tokens to 54 and engrave them because they look so amazing that way and the additional tokens let you keep them all on your Allies from the beginning of the game rather than having a shared pile. 

So if we get a combination of 25 people who either upgrade from the $1 or $19 level to a deluxe or higher reward level, we'll include it! Switching to one of those levels will also get your name on the Big Box. We'll also include anyone who late pledges for a deluxe copy in the count so let your friends know they can go to THIS LINK to still get in on the limited version of the game. 

We'll let you know in the next update whether this stretch goal was accomplished.

Sleeve Sale

We didn't hit the minimum order quantity for the custom sleeves so we're going to have extras. That means we're going to give you a special deal where you can get enough sleeves for all of your Zorro cards (165 sleeves) for just $10 and free shipping. These are very high quality sleeves that could actually be used for other games too so you might want to use this opportunity to stock up.

Past Games Sale

You can also get a deal (and free shipping) on limited versions of some of our past games that have been on Kickstarter like Good Cop Bad Cop®, New Salem, and Barker's Row, but we only have a handful of those left.

Pull the Pin Agents Shipping Promo Codes

You can get a discount on your shipping costs by downloading the Pull the Pin Games mobile app or on the web here and creating an account with your Kickstarter email address. This will show you which games you've backed or purchased from us and the benefits you received based on what you've backed and the app will give you the latest rules and detailed FAQs for the cards.

Steps to get your discount code in the app:
      1. Download and open the app and go to Account at the bottom or go to the web here.
      2. Log-in or create an account using your Kickstarter email address.
      3. Go to Benefits.
      4. Look for the benefit called "(YOUR RANK) Discount".
      5. Copy the promo code you see and use it in the BackerKit pledge manager to receive your shipping discount.

The higher rank you are, the larger the discount.
